
September 7, 2012 (London) - As momentum is gathering pace for the UNFCCC COP18, in Doha, Qatar, the World Climate Summit 2012, is being launched today. The largest business, finance and government conference during COP18 will take place on the first weekend of December in Doha, Qatar and is currently backed by many sponsors including the State of Green, Philips, and BMW; media Partners which include Reuters, TIME, and the Financial Times; Institutional and Industry Partners including Carbon Disclosure Project, World Bank, ICLEI, International Finance Corporation, and the UNDP.
Many more sponsors and partners, will be announced individually, in a comprehensive communications campaign, which will start on Monday, and last until December.
The WCS 2012 preliminary programme includes plenary sessions on Energy, Cities/Regions, Green Growth, Finance, Transportation, Infrastructure and Resource Efficiency.
This year’s World Climate Summit will include a structured networking marketplace for more interactions, business deals and meetings to happen: the World Climate Exchange. WCS will also introduce an annual report on the best policies, funds and public/private initiatives for climate change: the World Climate Yearbook.
